Youghal is steeped in history, little known to the outside world Youghal was once the home town to a very famous or should we stay infamous residents. Sir Walter Raleigh was mayor of the town, Oliver Cromwell had an army base here and when he left the Island it was from Youghal that he fled. Youghal also has one of the oldest churches in Ireland, St. Mary’s Collegiate Church which is still today nestled in the shelter of the Old Town Walls.

Perks Entertainment Centre and Aura Leisure Centre are ideal spots should the notorious Irish weather be less than perfect. There is a good selection of local golf courses in the area, including the 18 hole, 72 par Youghal Golf Club, and a real gem in Youghal Greyhound Track.
